1) The current capital of Brazil is Brasilia.

2) Both Salvador de Bahia and Rio were former capitals of Brazil. (Salvador was the first.

3) True. you MUST apply for a visa in advance to go to Brazil. it will cost you clost to $100, and you may NOT stay more than 90 days.

4) Brazil is completely unique in that it combines cultural elements from Africa, Europe and the Indigenous tribes. No other country can compare in the mixing of the 3 cultures.

5) True - the Amazon is the world's largest river. (the Nile is the longest though)
